new way of blogging for me.

have to go slow

starting to realise it takes up too much time to write proper sentences and have to check my grammer

so well..as long as its "readable" and "understandable" - it's okie hor? ya lar hehehe

long list of times to do....international night tonight, kids not allowed but managed to persuade daddy to let us go along else we have to find a babysitter

babysitter: we are not really used to the idea so that's why we "drag" ivan along to all the places we go, even if he grumbles and nags like an really OLD Man or OLD Lady.

daddy and ivan will be wearing their "SIA print" blouse and me will be in kebaya, should have gotten the SIA print kebaya, BUT the one i bought in chinatown (from my mum's friend was so much nicer but more expensive), pictures later...

i tried to bring a variety of clothes here for all of us, it will be interesting to see our international friends dressed in their respecting clothes too

a much bigger snowman!

started snowing yesterday - sometimes in the early morning
stopped at 4pm - dark clouds in the sky and ~ rain drops start falling on my head
decided to have a go a clearing the snow b/4 it disappears from the rain
tried and successfully built a much bigger snowman
daddy- cleared the path for car and our walkway
ivan- cleared the steps leading to the front door with a plastic dustpan ~ works amazingly well
me- busy building body of snowman with daddy's generous scoops of snow
daddy&ivan:tried playing on the snow tubbing sheet we bought on a pavement as our house is built on a gentle slope : they had fun when both landed on the snow in a mishap, captured on hp video recorder
ivan went around stomping into the white piece of snow covered backyard
finish up by giving snowman a carrot nose and a pair of potato eyes..cant find the pair of door knobs anywhere!
off to dinner at naval base officer club, ivan dig into his fries immediately when the food arrives
the weather is chilling

Country Presentation - 21 Feb 2008

daddy had signed up for country presentation on 21 Feb, i was still excited from preparing the chicken rice, oily vegetables (yu cai - direct translation from mandarin!) I mean to blog yesteday but suddenly i just cant remember the password to my blog. probably too tired. we were in bed at 10pm last night, and daddy and ivan went down to the living room for supper at 11pm. daddy told me this morning that he tried to wake me up last night (as i was casually saying my tummy's rumbling...though i had a bowl of rice during dinner at 6:30), he said i refuse to wake up! hmmm but i cant recall saying that! must be super tired.

back to presentation! ivan was "touring" around the auditorium throughout daddy's presentation...he must be going around to check that the audiences are listening! haha...and make some new international friends! and recognizing some familiar faces among those seated. i tried to "chase" ivan but i give up thereafter. Helpful friends, like JT help in "blocking" ivan from wondering out of the auditorium. chicken rice was well received!

Newport Winter Festival - Radio Disney Fair

it's the most fun and enjoyable children's fair that i had ever attended. even though it's not for me. i guess the picture says it all. daddy make the effort to time the balloon men (there's two of them) as we are given a quence ticket. they spend around ten minutes on each piece of balloon art work and i really appreciate them for the effort put in amidst entertaining adults and kids. we were greedy cause we quenced 2x. ivan had a small clifford dog with a leash in the morning and an american football + amercian football helmet just before we left the fair in the evening. ivan was all tired out. he played bouncing castles and basketball numerous times..and did some crafts.

knitting...anyone

knitting is quite popular here. maybe i should pick up knitting again. but daddy kept reminding me to be focus. i only know the basic of knit and purl and the rest are from books. hmm.. i forgot how to cast on and off! argh...maybe some online search will help me. prior to that i have to buy some knitting balls and needles. ah...daddy gonna says...you wanna do so many things at one go! a jack of all trades and a master of none! quilting...very interesting. but think i should focus focus...hmm...bought quite some fabric. have to start sewing soon. will need to plan and cut fabric first. this step always makes me nervous. but interesting as it is, once you start sewing, you will be reluctant to stop. was really elated to find some interesting, helpful and detailed tutorials online. am still very fascinated with the whole idea of sharing tutorials online. bloggers are very kind to share knowledge while others are sharing their handmake stuffs. this motivates and inspires me. maybe someday i will be able to share with others my works too. maybe...

Newport winter festival - Ice Sculpting Contest

this is our favourite. mainly because we managed to catch the sculptor in actions! there was a crowd gathering and everyone was cheering the sculptor on. it's a looney tones pieces of art..with tweety bird trying to saw the ice table/chair, as sylvester is holding onto tweety's birdcage!
